Vertu is a British company that focuses on luxury phones. They manage to transform a mobile phone from a simple communication device to a painfully expensive jewelry. Get a load of this:
- finest/flawless leather
- durable ceramic crafted into a keypad
- 18 carat gold shell
- made with the best material known to man: titanium, sapphire christal, ruby, and other precious metal/stones.
If that does not dazzle you. Here are some extras features:
- Vertu Fortress: claims to back up you contact list to a server located in a ex-military base in England.
- Vertu Conscierge: your style advisor only a single click away.
Technology wise. The phones is not very impressive. The UI is less then ideal and there is not many things you can do with it compare with other smartphones on the market. Of course, the value is in the prestige.
Considering the price tag around $5,750 to $26,550 per phone. I ask myself: "Who would buy this overly expensive device?" Well, it turns out Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Tom Ford and David Beckham to name a few.
Is it beautiful? Yes it is. Is it worth it? I'll let you decide. :)
